What is Judo

Judo is martial art and Olympic status sport, teaching those who undertake it self-discipline, respect for others and confidence. It also promotes fitness, strength, endurance, agility, balance and co-ordination to name but a few.

The whole point is to beat your opponent by throwing them on their back, holding them down, strangling or armlocking you opponent (age dependant)

At Chester Judo Club, we are a family. From the moment you enter the dojo you will be welcomed and treat as one of our own.

Some of our most frequently asked questions.

+-Will my child be learning strangles and arm locks?

No, don’t worry! They will be taught how to fall and roll correctly, a couple of gentle throws, a variety of hold downs and most of all in the children’s eyes; PLAY GAMES!

+-My child has a disability, can they be included?

In most cases yes! We try our best to give ALL children the opportunity to learn something new and will change our coaching approach dependant on your child’s needs for them to learn Judo. If you have any concerns then please feel free to contact us!
